Halliday, Resnick, Walker

I went to a bookshop opposite IIT Bombay and asked for a book on Physics. He showed me the book by Halliday, Resnick and Walker. The book looked ok for IIT JEE syllabus and I bought the book. I am yet to read even a chapter fully, even though I looked at some topics as needed. Yesterday I came across a blog post in with the statement "Expectant mothers should perhaps throw away their copies of Dr. Spock’s Baby and Child Care and start reading Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick and Walker." This means the book is worthy reading for IIT JEE preparation.

I can start doing a serious study of the book. Also in the same blog post, there is a suggestion by a trainer, that students should take IX and X subjects seriously as they are a foundation for IIT JEE preparation. The reason that I am posting revision notes for X class material is clear, I hope. The revision notes was actually prepared for X class examination. I am now making a soft copy of the same and posting it for the use of all who need it.

Try this link for downloading the good book on Physics

Well sir, I agree that Halliday, resnick and walker is a good book, but I strongly think that the previous version of the book (the one with 2 parts) is much much better than this one. It aids a lot in conceptual clarity, something which I think is missing in the walker version.

thank you Mr. Anupam for giving this insight. I have not seen the earlier version. I am yet to go through the present version also fully. But your comment is very useful to all readers of the blog.

thank you once again.

Hi, is very good website with hundreds of free video lectures, animations, e-books, lecture notes etc in physics, chemistry, biology, maths, engineering, medicine, computer science etc. They have the solution manual for Resnick & Halliday too. A very nice site worth visiting.

The animations at:

are really wonderful. If we hear the video lectures in physics, we will start hating our teachers :)
